You could use the Sicilian but its quite challenging for beginners. Alternatively, you could use the Caro-Kann or French(I used to use this on my chess.com account)

If I dismissed every opening I got destroyed playing, I would have run out of openings about 40 years ago...
kinda tru but i always look for better openings
