When will Chess960 replace chess?

I like 960 because of its no-theory play, if people try to invent theory in 960 too, then, it's not Fischer "Random" IMHO

@DrZwischenzug Yes lol. Obviously the goal of Chess960 is to remove opening theory but now some guys are talking about developing opening theory there as well. What a sad life :(

I've seen 960 "theory" obvioysly it not lke standard chess theory it cannot be like memorized tree of openings that just does not work but there are re-occuring pattern that typically require some sort solution to entangle the pieces. like:
http://chess960jungle.blogspot.com/2012/01/chess960-queens-in-corner.html
working out problem with queen in the cornrer.

There will not be 20 move deep opening to any position. Only such woudl exist if tournament would announce week beforehand which setup will used in the tournament and it would one of such openings where there is clear cut threat that force the opening on certain trails

Do you guys know the joke with the two men walking through the african prairie?
They discover a lion following them. First, both start to run away. Then one of them says 'Stop running, it's pointless. We will never be faster than the lion'
The other man answers 'But I need not be faster than the lion. It's enough, if I'm faster than you'

This is my point with chess 960. The professionals need not have 960 times the opening knowledge of today. It's enough, if they learn one thousandth for each of the 960 positions. That will give them the same decisive advantage over patzers like today. Nothing will change.

And if you think that 960 is a big number: How many faces do you know? How many songs and melodies? How many situations of your life do you remember? How many words?

@sheckley666 gran master do not need opening theory against lesser opponent. they can beat just by understanding thegame most playrs. they need opening theory to to fight the other grand masters

@petri999 Lol I can't believe this has taken so long to be said. A grandmaster will beat a patzer by playing any 1st move he wants without knowing any opening theory.

There is no such a thing as "eliminating the theory", theory will always appear when things become serious. Why there is no theory for 960 today? Because there is no need for it. If chess 960 replaces chess, then theory will appear for sure since it will be the best weapon a person with good memory has. Sorry for breaking the sad news for you. But if you want to play something with little theory, then you can try imperfect information variants of chess such as the one with fog of war.

Guys, thumbs down is not changing the facts to the ones you want, facts don't work like that unfortunately.
