Lol. There is no such a thing. You have to move to stop the clock, else it keeps running. Is that simple.
What is happening probably is that they are moving faster than you. Try making a valid move before your opponent actually makes its own, you will see that your move will go through with virtually 0 clock usage right after your opponents move.
Or lag. Where you move, and your clock wont stop ticking because the input you made on your computer has not reached the server, and since it has not reached, technically it has not happened yet.
Is one of those, but players cant stop their clocks at will. They have to move and the move has to be registered on the server.
