I have been denied the right to name time clock cheats I have encountered in blitz games (many dozens) and have had no action taken against these provable fraudsters.
but the fact is that time clock cheating is endemic here and I recommend that players go to trust pilot to get the facts about it.
It is impossibel to cheat on clock because it runs on server. The one you see is just for you to not real clock. You have lost the connection or you connection is slow. Hence opponent has made a move you just dont see.
No cheats on clock 'cause there is no plausible way to do it.
Time tricks could be done for lag compensation but that would nothing like you described

ok, so you think that a consumer based business review website with lichess as only ONE of hundreds and thousands of businesses will provide accurate information huh.
also heres a lesson: people don't take action if they don't have drive. there's clearly a general pattern that most people who are completely FINE and even pleased with something, be it a platform, school, book, organization, will not have any reason to make a big deal out of it and move on with their day. the unsatisfied are the ones who'll generally make the reviews. the fact that there are very thorough positive reviews is already impressive

Every one has right to say their opinion does not meant they are worth anything. People are annoyed when they lose on time due to bad connection and it is but there is no way to induce connection break on opponent.
You live better life if accept as it is without lookin someone else to blame. It your connection that is flaky no one is responsible for that besides who made the connection contract and the service provider. I have had the problem that my clock shows that I am winning on time but in reality due to connection loss I just did not know opponen moved long time ago. big deal. Nowaday on web interface at least you will the connection problem on lower left corner.

I didn’t go to trustpilot before joining lichess as a) it’s free, b) they’re not selling me anything, c) I’m not sending anything back, d) I’m never going to have to ask for a refund
Mind you, I could go to trustpilot and say.. lichess is a free chess website, it’s ad free too and if I wish to contribute towards a free website I get a nice cool green wing for a month... the interface is great, there are unlimited puzzles, tactics, links to videos, a game analyser, free game analysis, to name but a few benefits.. all provided at zero cost to the user. It has cheat detection to wheedle out cheating scumbags.. all for free.. or did I mention that already.
The only downside is some of the tosh posted in the forums.. ie.. when will I become a GM, join my team, etc etc.. but for a totally free website, it’s a small price to pay.. sorry if that’s too expensive for you.

"Trust pilot" is nothing but a consumer review site where anyone who's sufficiently motivated can write their opinion, and surprise surprise many of the reviews from people who apparently violated the public shaming pollicy and got a warning or had their account closed due to TOS violations.
As for this supposed "time stop", i can see the other persons clock running after i move, if they premove it doesn't advance, but this is the same for me. Anyone can try this and see there is nothing wrong with Lichess clock.
If that makes me 'a shill' so be it.
I know what i see.
