But he doesn't know how to write a book! As I said, I want to hear about experiences from somebody who tried this method themselves! Until now, no one has answered my initial question! I would like to talk about his method and not about his book!

Is there anyone who has experience with this method?

Hi Odoaker2015
Some books take dedication and perseverance to get through. Understanding what you've read rather than quickly getting through it is the key to learning. Absorbing the lessons from "The Method" feeling the critical moments will continue to pay huge dividends throughout your chess career. Some guidelines are given how to value position with emphasis given to King safety, based on your evaluation you can decide if you are worse or better. If you are better its a cardinal sin to play dynamically according to Dorfman. I have used the method in my games and feel very comfortable since it's based on logical principals and it elevated my level of understanding. Also when i look at GM games i can see how the top players use this method in their own games on a regular basis. I think the book is more useful to advanced players, maybe 2000+ Fide.
Regards Richard

@Pawnstructures That may be true, but that wasn't my question. My question was, what experiences have been made with this method? Why don't you show some of your games that have been played and annotated on using this method? That would help!

And I did not say that the method is bad! I just said that I think the book is bad because Mr Dorfman is not a book author. It is badly written, at least the practical part! Please show some games with annotations. @Pawnstructures

You said you played games using this method. Then it should be no problem for you to show some of your games here! @Pawnstructures

I doubt my games are interesting to demonstrate this method in practical play.
I also don't have the time to check my game archive for this topic.
I would refer you to an article covering some practical games written by Iryna Zenyuk, (Energia)
https://www.chess.com/article/view/what-does-dorfman-has-to-say-on-planning
If you dont like Dorfmans writing style you can also read Jeremy Silmans works on evaluating positions he is around 2300 Fide so his understanding of chess is good but can of course not be compared with Dorfman who worked with Kasparov in his team.
I checked the prizes on Amazon and i found 4 used copies of "The Method in Chess" the cheapest copy was 136 USD so i guess some players find the books of Dorfman to have intrinsic value.
There is also a video version on chess 24 presented by Dorfman, Jan Gustafsson and Fressinet.

I already thought that you don't want to show games. You don't want to reveal your game secrets, do you? @Pawnstructures
I have Jeremy Silman's book. It is also not about who writes better. I am interested in knowing how well the method can be used in practical play. Therefore, it would be good if players who use the method in their practical games show their games to show how they use the method.

By the way I'll go into the problem that I have with his book shortly afterwards:
Dorfman hardly explains how he arrives at his concrete evaluations of the 4 elements in individual cases and does not substantiate it with arguments. This is why the book is badly written in my opinion.
But I am watching the second preview video on chess24 right now. The course is a bit expensive with nearly 40 €, but I will probably buy the course. As I said, the method seems to be good! @Pawnstructures @tpr
