I've never played using the keyboard, no.
The Keyboard extension was allowed until the end of 2021, now it has been banned. Those who used it, have lost their advantage from it or quit bullet totally.
These who didn't use it, rise up in rating.

Ok, now keep it there for a month of play, or better ...
Play in a tournament.
Its easy to play while you're winning and stop as soon as you lose one if you play one-off games to increase your rating, but if you play in a tournament for an hr and see how you do, that should get rid of that effect.

"One would assume that improvement comes gradually..."
Usually it does; but sometimes you do get those "quantum leaps" (somehow or other). :)

I've been around 1400 in Bullet for months, mostly a bit below that even. Since NYE suddenly I've risen to 1519. Does that happen to other people? I can't wrap my head around it. One would assume that improvement comes gradually...
look at my graph, happens all the time.

Yeah same thing happened to me I was 1250-1275 rated before the marathon THEN I gained 215 rating points and THEN I still keep wining elite opponents
