By and large books rarely make anyone stronger. it is not so much about book but amoutn of effort you put into it.

No real secrets in this book. A good reading before going to bed !

One of the few chess books, which I can fully recommend! Some practical aspects are highlighted in an extremely instructive and helpful manner, for instance calculation and evaluation. There are some terms, which were entirely new for me, for instance the term "mini-plan".

This is good book. Many practical tips - for example what you should know and what not. Recommended by Sarg0n!

PS: way back I read it 2x, English & German

PPS: Nunn is using terms like DAUT and LPDO - you will here them pretty often! At least I am thinking in such terms.

John Nunn is a good author,
I only have two books and one of them is of John Nunn,
Its a book of mates, I looked about 50 diagrams or so,
a third of the book, Its a good book nevertheless like
mate with two threats, mate with double check
I will give you the title, later...
Nevertheless I am more fond of books with explanations
and writing style instead of just diagrams, but the diagrams
are good since they have a good size in the page.
I am more used to tech than to books.
