Sandbagging spike on lichess 🚀

<Comment deleted by user>
if you are losing rating points to sandbaggers then everyone else will also be losing points to sandbaggers therefore from a relative point of view with other 'honest' players your rating is correct.

Therefore the reason you cannot get your rating higher is not down to sandbaggers but due to your own level of competence at a particular time control.

Everytime you lose points to a sandbagger just remember your next win will gain you more rating points than you would have got had you not lost to the sandbagger.

All swings and roundabouts stop worrying about it is my advice or even better beat the sandbaggers its not as if they start with an extra piece.
@CrowChess #13 the reason you cant get your rating higher isn't down to sandbaggers?
okay i get to lose to a 1600 rated player (i lose 10 points+)
now compare that to me losing to that same player when he is on his true rating(2300 - 2400)
i hope the effect on the rating is clear now
Hi! My name is Marya. I'm 10 years old. I am in the 5th grade and I love chess very much. I'm proud of it! As for the rating, I think that if you lose rating points for sandbags, then everyone else will also lose points for sandbags, so from a relative point of view with other "honest" players, your rating is correct.

So the reason you can't get your rating higher is not because of the sandbags, but because of your own level of competence in a particular time control.

Every time you lose points to a sandbag, just remember that your next win will bring you more ranking points than you would have received if you hadn't lost to a sandbag.

All swings and carousels stop worrying about it-that's my advice, and even better beat the sandbags, it's not as if they start with an extra piece.
