I am a lousy chess player, and always had been.
Started with 30 minutes games. Gone towards short time games, thinking this will make be better.
Last Saturday, I played one one minute game after another and have seen:
One minute games are not close related to the chess, that I want to play.
My heart was at 120 bpm, my mind said to me "Call me, if you need intelligence."
It was cool to me. But it was not how I am playing chess naturally.

If my game partner gain extra time with every move ...
I am lost.

I have thought about this before.. and might have even complained at one point with the same idea as the OP. I think the response I got was fair - basically that when the feature was implemented, the idea that a pre-move on lichess takes 0 seconds was actually considered heavily with input from players. A decision was made, and now lichess bullet is what it is.
When I think back on it.. the old analogue clocks were the same way: If you were fast enough, it was possible to play in less time than the clock needed to tick. A person could essentially play an entire game in less than a second of clock time.
I can't speak to the idea of ping times, as mine sucks enough to lose by lag occasionally... but the rest is what it is.
