Over the board you can't premove, but you can't do any missclick... online chess isn't chess over the board, you don't see things the same whether you're looking at a screen or at a board. That's also why the preferred TC online is 3+0 and over the board 90+30 or even 100+30 like in Wijk aan Zee.
And premove doesn't only award mouse skill. You have to foresee what your opponent is about to do and think fast.
Also, you can't premove over the board, but you see the hand moving the piece and you get the time to answer fast and press the clock as soon as your opponent pressed his clock.
If you don't like premoves, you can play with increment. Premoves aren't really useful in this case
If you have an advantage, but your opponent has the same advantage, then it is fair.
If you have a disadvantage, but your opponent has the same disadvantage, then it is fair.
Saying that the pre-moves are unfair is l like saying while playing football (soccer for Americans) "IT'S NOT FAIR!!!!!! ONLY THE GOALKEEPER ON MY TEAM CAN USE HIS/HER HANDS WHILE THE BALL IS IN PLAY!!!!! THIS GAME IS SO BAD THAT ONLY 1 OUT OF 11 PLAYERS ON MY TEAM CAN USE THEIR HANDS!!! I QUIT!!"

lichess premoves garbo in the first place
Can you perform a move using no time? Of course not. What you can do, is perform the whole operation on your opponent's time. That means, you need not using any of your own time. On a virtual board, this is possible, without distracting your opponent or giving away your move. The price is not knowing what your opponent will have moved, or it would be your move and not happening on your opponent's time. That should be the only price, any deduction of time would miss the whole story.
I can recognize the importance of premoves in the case of bullet or ultrabullet games but frankly I hope that this mode will be eliminated starting from the blitz from 5 minutes up ... premove the game would become difficult but frankly already from the blitz onwards I believe that the premove are more harmful than anything else .... or Lichess should give the possibility in the settings to eliminate the premove options and therefore the opponent in quick pairing knows that he will not be able to use this mode with that player .... a sort of warning at the start of the game and then he will decide whether to start the game with that player or not .... of course if he interrupts the game before starting it in these cases Lichess must not display the wording of possible banner for interrupting the game
The fix: play with increment
I don't think lichess is going to remove premoves because 2 people like playing fast time controls but aren't fast. the truth is the premoves aren't a problem. eiher you can accept them and use them effectively yourself in online chess or you should only play otb
For my part, however, I will make requests to Lichess at least to eliminate the premoves for those who do not want them and therefore put them in a position to play only with opponents who do not adopt the premoves ... it is about choices and the freedom to adopt them that's all

are you tripping balls? the one whos being crazy is you; lmao you want others to not give their opnion? most people would rather keep premoves, as you can see on the like/dislike ratio. they arent "haters" they just dont want a random dude to take
