I played three games today. I’m sorry but I experienced the abandoned game error again!
@ProllPlayer that is so bad, sorry to hear that. So I guess it was partially fixed since most of the times it works.
I will report this to get more help from the core developers.
@BaronVonChickenpants thanks for the reply. Yes the newest version will behave like that. And it is live now by the way.
I went 15 games without incident, but then I experienced the abandoned game issue once again. So, yes, most of the time it works, but not always. I can't think of anything that I did differently. Strange...
I finally found the reason why some games are lost and tagged incorrectly as abandoned. This is because servers are getting confused and think players using the DGT board play page (/dgt/play) are having more than one game at the same time. Our opponents are receiving a message telling them that they can claim victory during our turn . So some of them do, some of them don’t . Until today someone said that to me o the chat and by the end of the game when I was about to resign I asked him to claim victory and see what would happen... and voila ... Lichess said I abandoned the game and even warned me for not resigning.
Good news is that now we can fix it for good.
I will inform everyone once this is fixed, since that is the last missing issue.
Thanks again to all for reporting these things
Great find, well done!
Just my small feedback:
Firefox working fine
no delay
no other issues
Hello mates,
just bought my DGT Bluetooth chessboard.
Installed LiveCloud, BlueTooth connected correctly.
Using Chrome on Mac, two tabs open (one with the DGT lichess console opened, second with a new game).
The Console said:
"Position on board does not match any ongoing game."
But the pieces are correctly placed in their start positions!
How can I fix it?
@entofound Please double check pieces on the board. Sometimes it is hard to notice the difference, sometimes I swap the knight with the bishop or misplace the queen and king. After everything looks correct, If you still see that message reload the page.
Another possibility is that you have an ongoing correspondence game in which the position does not match. Then you start a new game that is not supported like for example a blitz game. Then you will see that message. Only rapid 15+10 or longer are supported.
A third possibility is that the board is flipped, since my board has letters and numbers (indexes) it is always in the right position, but some boards does not have indexes so it is impossible to know. I have never tested with a flipped board so I won't know if that will be a problem or not. Just an idea.
tested a few minutes ago, got the same misplaced pieces problem:
