Lie detection for chess

It seems to me, that different types of lie detections could be used for OTB tournaments or online chess tournaments.
Question the players (before & after) similar to an airport lie detection. Maybe even monitor the players during a chess tournament like using a web cam that's monitoring eye fluctuations.

Could heart rate & blood pressure be uploaded to a chess site, using an intelligent watch?
Are GM chess players watched enough on camera to detect eye fluctuations?
Are there any open-source lie detection systems?

Maybe all the above could complement a cheat detection system, if needed.

Do you think an AI lie detector for chess is science fiction?

Lie detectors dont work lol

yup, what #3 said. even the link you posted, which is generally positive about lie detection, only claims "70 percent to 92 percent accuracy". but even at 92 percent you can forget about it as a general screening tool.

In reality, lie detector is nothing.
It's art of psychology that catches the culprit red handed who accepts truth.
No big deal.
Psychology (test) is enough to test players whether they are cheating or not.

Why?

Its quite intrusive. Cheating is NOT a major problem at GM level, and when something fishy is going on, it can easily be reviewed by algorithms and patterns.

I think questioning all of the players as if they were going through Passport control at an airport before a match is a quite brilliant idea.

  1. What’s the purpose of your visit here today?

  2. Did you pack your own chess set?

  3. Did you insert your beads alone or did someone insert them for you?

Etc etc etc

By having a few approved questions before joining a tournament like asking if they have the intent to cheat and having approved questions after the tournament like did your get some form of assistance, would be a plus to the scanning procedures of a participate in a chess tournament. It would be complementary to game analyses.

To not offend the players, how should the basic questions be formulated? Obviously politely. Give examples of questions.
