is this take-to-long-and-get-reported/banned-rule at all true?

@Firegoat7 They hung a piece and asked for a TB.. I refused.. then they wanted a draw.. I refused.. they asked again and again I refused. So that’s when the ‘games’ started.... And the comments making clear their intentions.

I’d almost be flattered if my moves were that good in any game, someone would think I was a cheater. I’d also be more than happy for anyone to scrutinise any of the 2000+ games I’ve played.

Psychology may be more important in OTB but isn’t relevant in online games in my opinion. I’m no shrinking violet so mind games won’t work, but in my experience this behaviour is purely down to bad sportsmanship and obnoxious behaviour with a barely disguised attempt to bully a weaker player.

@MMS12345 thats basically a lie he was just telling to move quick so he can move on to other games.

@BorisOspasky so you say there were opponents aggressively demanding draw or takeback, and then announcing to cheat?

even in such awful situations, I would not resign yet. Cuz otherwise you have a harder time proving to Lichess that they cheat.

And always disable takeback / time addition in rated games.

@Cedur216 I have takebacks disabled now. I wasn’t called a cheat.

I resigned games because I couldn’t be bothered to sit and waste my time while they ran down their clocks.

I was advised later to find something else to do until their time ran out.. which of course is the correct thing to do. Resigning just gets them the result they wanted.

@MMS12345 said in #1:

I was playing a fellow lichesss player on rapid the other day and while we were playing
I had to think for a minute because I was in a tight situation (note I had over five minutes), right before I moved, he told me if I take too long, I can be banned.
Is this at all true?

Nice trick.
