@Hydersun : Many titled players are giving simuls, where you can participate. If you want a game on equal terms, then there are plenty of occasions. For instance there are teams and battles between them with plenty of titled players. A good start might be to join one of the teams from this recent battle: https://lichess.org/tournament/0syvGIIT

I have on many occasions (although it's true I'm a little strapped for time right now).
If you're going to ask them though, make sure it's unrated (since we're not all that likely to get heaps of rating points for a win). And in truth--although nobody's likely to turn down a game with a GM--if you're looking to improve, you'll probably get a lot more benefit out of playing somebody closer to your own rating.

I dont mind playing rated because I think that I dont deserve my numbers anyway if I cannot proove them by beating much lower rated opposition.
Fully agree with the rest, dear MrPushwood!
The best challenge is to learn from someone rated +200 points (the next rating range) as there one would understand their ideas and moves rather than playing someone rated +500 who totally dominates you. :0

In terms of both fun and learning this may be right.
Purely in terms of learning: the stronger the opponent, the better. The ultimate for learning is Stockfish level 8, but it is no fun being beaten game after game.

I wonder if that is even true. How are you optimizing your learning environment when you are being demoralized by constant defeat ?

How are you optimizing your learning environment when you are being fooled by constant wins ?
From personal experience I can tell you that sparring against an engine helps
Winning is fun
Losing allows to learn

Titled players gain nothing by beating you, and if they lose it would get around which would be embarrassing. Especially as some strange challenger would probably cheat anyway.

The easiest way to get a match with a titled player (assuming you don't run into them normally) is to look for a streamer. At various times streamers will play against subscribers to their channels or just whomever wants to, so just by following them while they stream there's a decent chance that you'll get some opportunities to play.

@Funkmaus
True enough, I suppose...but if I'm going to get 0 points for a win, I still don't really see too much point in it. :)
