Cool. Now I know how to defeat you.
Maybe just turn that option off? I have takebacks turned off and I think it disables the "add time" button too

I think it's a separate item in the settings, but yes, you can turn it off.

GREAT! I disabled it! Thanks!
But does that mean I can't give more time or does it mean I can't receive more time -- or both?
Can't say I understand why so many people feel hurt or offended when given extra time...

Who feels offended or hurt? I don't. My problem is I simply don't know how to play once I know that the little time I have left changes depending on my opponent's decision. I'm better off with that disabled.

And that's what I don't understand. The time can only be added so that you can play exactly the same way as if it didn't happen. Or you can use the extra time if you wish.

Yeah I get it. It's obviously a matter of lack of flexibility on my part. Old fashioned? Also when playing, I'd be unable to know when I could give extra time or not (luckily that seldom happens since I'm 99% the one with time trouble ;-) )
