Chess is my only way out of working at mcdonalds thats why even tho I hate it I still play many tournaments
You need to have other things going in your life (personal and professional) as well as your hobbies to be satisfied with life.
Don't make chess your #1 focus unless you can guarantee yourself that it will be a career for you. If it does not work out, that's okay.
Work on your education, skills, friendships, relationships, and keep chess or other activities / interests as a hobby. I think you are getting depressed because you are investing so much time and energy into chess and not getting much in return. So I suggest take a step back and focus on things that will bring you long-term stability and happiness

The funny thing is I just waste time on social media at home I do not study chess at all I just play a bunch of tournaments hoping to do good. But I feel sad that I am wasting my time and not improving.
