How to stop playing bullet??

@sameartist
"even a 1500 rapid player can get to 2000+ in bullet, it's meaningless."
Nonesense it's the opposite.
And the number is irrelevant it's how many people you can beat. If the average rating was a million or the average rating was 10, it would make no difference.

Are you actually rated 600 or is that a meme

its a cycle. You start playing bullet. Your rating goes up up up. Then you get some extraordinary bad luck followed by some really strong players, then you start loosing on time and then you start blundering. Once your rating is lower then when you started that is when you stop.

Or you don't and you can play longer next time!

@shuvashish76. #23. Because addiction is a really huge problem that many struggle from and if there is someone believing or spreading misinformation about it then I am going to correct it. i myself have struggled a lot from addiction and trust me when I say it's not something you can "just turn off". And it IS something that should be taken seriously. And I'm certain that if you had an addiction yourself then you would not ask questions like "why so serious?"

Again @shadow1414 , I repeat the "whoosh" comment. The whole point of his post on the matter was to point out that there is not an easy solution, using the hyperbolic suggestion from the video "If you're homeless, just buy a house" as an illustration. That's called "irony" and yes, it is the basis of a joke. It might come as a shock to you, but not only are we ALLOWED to laugh at tragedy, it is a healthy coping mechanism. Dark humor has a long history, and it's ingrained into human nature, no matter how much perpetually offended snowflakes might want to change it. There are no sacred cows that get to be exempt.

And now, my unpopular opinion based on experience and observation. 90% of the time, people with "addictions" are really people who DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE THEIR BEHAVIOR, even when they know that they must. The physical disease model of addiction is flat out propaganda by the recovery/rehabilation industry. I cannot tell you how many people I know who failed repeatedly in such programs, but once they decided that they truly wanted to change (as opposed to the manipulative behavior of SAYING they wanted to change but then spending half a day looking for their fix at the first opportunity), they BROKE THEIR ADDICTION, without resort to any of these (perhaps well-intentioned) charlatans.

Physical/chemical dependence is very real, and detoxification can be necessary. But once that is done, the endless support groups are not needed for someone committed to changing. In fact for many such groups only serve to teach new ways to get high and new ways to not get caught.

@phoenixshade. Tell that nonsense to someone who is addicted to gambling. And yes you are allowed to joke. I never said you don't have that right. Read my posts next time. EDIT. I only said joking about addiction is not appropriate and to some extent outright hurtful

@shadow1414 I'll tell that "nonsense" to anyone who has a persistent problem with using their free will to carry out repeated bad decisions. It works at least as well as telling people that step one is to admit you HAVE NO free will (aka, "you are powerless").

As for the disease model, I can cite tons of well-controlled studies that demonstrate it is bunk from a medical perspective.

Its basically the same discussion in everything. You either believe in the sovereignty of people or you believe that everyone is victim of circumstance. If I want to stop playing bullet, gambling or drinking beer then I see that as my responsibility. And if people mock me because I fail to do so I see them as right and helpful. But many people these days just don't. And rather pressure the world to change to shield them from their temptations.

And mocking them is cruel because they are victims of circumstance. And these people will become very aggressive when faced wit anything that does not support their victimhood.

Weird though that they see sovereign people as evil because shouldn't they be a victim of circumstance too? I mean logically it doesn't really make sense but logic does not seem to be a prerequisite of victimhood.
