@tpr I have a team names 2000+ rating ambitious players where I am the only member. I created that team so that I can use its forums to analyse my games. Will you join it. Pls just to analyse my games??

"Chess Fundamentals" is available as PDF for free, as its copyright has expired. The original is in descriptive notation, but an algebraic edition exists as well. You can also buy a hardcopy on e.g. Amazon.

I do not join any teams. I do however analyse games in the games analysis forum, and others analyse there as well.

Do not worry about openings. You will rarely lose a game in the opening. Most losses will be from tactics in the middle game.
Lasker in his "Common Sense in Chess" supplied 4 simple rules to play the opening

  1. Only play the e- and d-pawns
  2. Develop knights before bishops
  3. Do not play the same piece twice
  4. Do not pin knights with bishops

As a beginner myself I do not invest much study in openings. I follow general principles as 1) through 3) and castle early, ....
What I didn't knew and do a lot was number 4) Do not pin knights with bishops. I do this quite often? Not so good apparently.

@SpaceXBest Personally, when I studied chess as a 7 yr old, I had a book with 500 puzzles that I had to complete under 20 min every day. Ofc, the puzzles weren't hard, but after 3 months of that training I was approximately 2000 ELO. Highly recommend.

Bishops are worth more than knights. So if you pin a knight with a bishop, your opponent can gain time by kicking it around.
All four rules have exceptions, which confirm the rule. The 4 rules of Lasker are no gospel, but they are common sense and if you follow them you will get through any opening.

Yes, "Chess is 99% tactics" - Teichmann.

You can solve puzzles here on lichess until your puzzle rating exceeds your target rating.
There are also books with puzzles:
"Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess.
"Chess: 5334 Problems, Combinations and Games" Polgar
Those are available on e.g. Amazon.
