How to estimate your FIDE rating (conversion formula inside)

@mdinnerspace

I must admit than some of my comments were less than polite, but I appreciate those last few posts, and am glad we can leave this topic on a more positive note.

Now let's focus on actual chess!

With these calculations my FIDE would be 1614.94, which is surprisingly high. 1863 classical and 1500 blitz. Is it possible the classical ratings are currently a bit high?

@teletolumby , it was designed before rapid category existed. So I believe now you should use your rapid rating instead of classical. Result is 1573.54 for your current ratings, which means you always beat the 1000 floor beginners but always loose for the 2000 advanced ones. What do you think ?

1573 still seems high to me, I do usually beat beginners, and usually lose to advanced players. Maybe I have improved. @EvilChess

Hi @dudeski_robinson did you ever investigate correlation between ACPL and lichess rating?

@tailuge

Unfortunately, lichess doesn't save ACPL in the pgn headers. It might be possible to compute something like "average evaluation swing" for the games where stockfish results are saved, but that's not quite the same quantity.

Also, processing a bunch of games to extract this would take a while (and a big computer).

@Karpovnik I don't think USCF and Fide ratings are the same, so that might not be so impressive ;)
