How To Avoid Engine Users

And you are saying your opponent is doing it? How are they doing this, in your scenario?

I go along with @niklas_8. Don't waste time worrying if opponent is using computer. If so, you have tougher competition, so much more the glory if you play well and win. Only reason to worry about cheaters would be if your rating is really important to your self image.

@Chuck_Fess yes, speaking with titled players (even an International Master) they have expressed and convinced me how much more common cheating is than WE think. Even many titled players use engines and they proved it to me. we as in the general chess community, I didn't say me. Don't twist my words.
"Your paranoia and misplaced trust in your own "senses" does far more to harm your experience than any cheaters do" that statement couldn't be more false. As soon as I start a game with someone that is probably not deemed a cheater, I play without a worry in the world. Of course I wouldn't let the thought consume me otherwise, but I would be lying if I was to say it wasn't there.

@Sarg0n Disagree, I filter all the time and will always still get good games.

@Toscani You assume I play to impress others. I play for my love of the game, and if I'm able to filter out cheaters I will do so 100 % and I see nothing wrong with that. I still enjoy the game none the less

@Kilbroney To be honest I don't play correspondence but I would assume they have a very low engine use rate compared to other time formats. It just wouldn't be as practical to use an engine in a correspondence situation compared to classical/ rapid

@sparowe14 Disagree. Although yes you improve by playing cheaters, imo you improve more by playing humans. To me it is just a waste of time, and if I can filter them out why wouldn't I? "Only reason to worry about cheaters would be if your rating is really important to your self image." Not true at all. That may be one of a handful of reasons, one of them being what I just stated.

@youngmoney2299 I never assume. You assumed that the comment was directed at you.

A post when not directed at one person is a general comment post. Read what you want into it.

To be more clear and precise .... Here are solutions that may help. Try it, you got nothing to lose.

Especially for cheaters: Don't win games to impress others.
Players playing against cheaters: Clear your mind and enjoy the game.
Every one else : Let it all go and see what happens.

Accept the thing that have already happened. You cannot undo history.
