This is the kind of forum I like! This is a topic on which I talk a lot because I finally found my serenity on the chessboard. it's simple - play a lot, in tournaments it's better because you will have responsibilities (team tournament) and it will be a personal challenge (shield, marathon), and from there, worry about the game, forget the numbers , this Ranking, you may lose it, but you will win it back or you will have better ranking! after a bad performance, you will naturally return to your original ranking sooner or later, be patient and don't worry about it because it will come anytime, when you don't expect it! because your level of play does not change as long as you practice! for me, stop thinking about the ranking allowed me to take complete pleasure in playing, I discovered an unsuspected fun, and a pleasure to work, to improve myself and I became much more humble, because I tell myself that it there is always worse and always better and that the most important thing is to have fun playing!
greeting!

greeting!
Thank you CSKA_Moscou. So I just played in a lichess team tournament (Blitz time control) and I ran out of time in a game where my opponent was right about to flag (they had 0.1 second left!) lol. Will be quite painful to revisit that game when I get around to analyzing it. Don't think it gets much more tilting than that. But I wasn't that upset about it because I play ultra and hyper all the time, where games that come down to the wire like that happen quite frequently.
Once again, I really appreciate you sharing your perspective where you explain how you found serenity on the board. I agree with you. Patience is very important. I'm glad that when you stopped thinking too much about ranking you became more humble. Yes, having fun is ultimately the most important part!
Thank you for your kind response! I've probably lost at least fifty times at 0.01, in blitz too! before I felt frustrated like that, now (yes I am like that!) I say to myself yeah, it's cool, this player is fast! of course this point of view is personal and maybe other things could help you but it always makes me happy to talk like that! I also tried to work on reflexes, psychology to adapt some choices, and in particular how to try to get out of reflexes based on intuition, how to avoid the compulsiveness of the superego (candidate move) but apart from the Blitz you unfortunately have to make it clear that some intuitions/compulsives are difficult to manage. I think that having gone through the disillusion and the illusion of the result, of the classification, made me think about the interest of the classification, and the quality of the game is more important to me, just like the quality of the game. adversary, I find satisfaction when I play a good game win, lose or draw. before, it sometimes seemed frustrating to lose against a lower ranked opponent, but since I think differently, I find serenity, satisfaction and pleasure if someone beats me, no matter their level because the fact that someone manages to beat me does not depend on being weak/strong but depends on the ability of the opponent to have seen the right move, to have used their skills, the speed, and it is the same for a victory or a draw. the fact of being out of this notion of weak/strong was useful to me in my way to forget the Ranking !
Have a few kids. Then find out how not to hurt them when you lose. It's easier if they are cute. I suggest starting with kittens first and working your way up.. or maybe a puppy - they are more resilient.
The real answer though:
What if you just approached your rating in a healthier way and realized what it actually is(and what it is not)?
It is a way to pair you with an opponent that you are statistically both able to beat and also be beaten by. That means if you hit a 400 point rating window, you should be good to go. 100 or even 200 points up or down should still allow your rating to perform its function properly. (+400 from your current form is where you stop being able to win anymore).
It is NOT a measure of who you are or your worth as a person or player. Now go and believe this and calm the freak down before you kick a kitten.
