@Inventor_1 what is the rationale behind that ?
The point is that there's no point in the opposite (that's always been the case for me). ))) I only registered on Lichess last year. And so far, in my entire life (I'm 40 now), this is the only account I've had on chess platforms.
It's good to know that even though you don't have to, having extra accounts on other sites can still be a good idea or useful.
There are billions and billions of things in life that could suddenly prove useful. You can't do it all. There are so many things that are definitely useful, but I haven't found the time for them yet. It's more important to do something about them than to do something that might possible be useful. Until last year, I went through a period when I hadn't played a single game of chess against anyone people for about 11.5 years. I only played against computers (not even one game every year). I've recently temporarily rediscovered my passion for chess and am playing here. Once I've played enough, I might stop playing against people altogether for many years.

I only use chess.com to play variants and 4 player chess since they're super fun and lichess doesn't have a lot of variants.
In addition, they offer a myriad of possible custom setups and even unconventional pieces to be used. They have performed commendably with the variant server, which I would argue meets the needs of most users, although there is always room for further improvement and expansion.

"Chess.com" has quite a few flaws, and I encountered some really annoying people there too.
Yes, and among the most annoying of all are a large number of the folks who manage that site (who can indeed become truly toxic at times).

I started playing again recently, but in 2018 I had an account on both platforms, but I always liked Lichess a little more

I use both. To be honest I do it because sometimes I get an elo I am happy with and don't want to lose, so I go to another site.

Probably 99% of players on lichess also play there occasionally. Apart from that there are some categories which preferer chess.com for example most titled players play there because they've tournaments like the TT or the freestyle Friday. Chess.com has many popular variants which Lichess doesn't have for example Bughouse or 4 players' chess.

Plus they've taken a "firm stand" on a political issue, which is something that, to me, is a real turn-off.
if you think that lichess will never take a "firm stand" on "a political issue", well, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

I like the forums on the other site because they don't lock the content just because the issue has been discussed many times before.
