I think you have received good suggestions already. I think #3 is particularly important. I’d consider doing 3-5 easy puzzles right before the first game to sharpen your tactical awareness. Make sure that the puzzles are easy enough, otherwise you may get exhausted. I would take a brief look into your opening reportoire too, making sure any holes are covered. If you have lots of holes, focus on the ones you think are most likely to be exposed. Best regards mediocre tournament player

wouldnt castling early solve the holes problem? like developing the kingside knight and bishop then castling
i suggest good sleep, this helps the brain from overheating (hence, why we yawn)

what im doing rn is playing stockfish 8 until i win (its not going well)

Sleep is definitely important. Getting knights and bishops out and getting castled are nice fundamentals, however judging from OPp’s rating he will have to know quite a bit of specific theory too. Imagine playing a poisoned pawn Najdorf only with prinsiples.

although it depends on what kind of tourney, a rapid and classical one will have these problems, but bullet and blitz should be fine

Stay up all night memorizing all the opening variations you might need.

Do not do this, you need to be well rested for the next day.

solve a puzzle and don't play many part,just 2 or 3 part of 10+0 or 10+5 but don't play chess2.0(atomic,chess960...), bullet,standart and blitz
