Downloadable game for PC with no connection?

Hi guys, I am looking for a downloadable PC compatible game to play while offline. There are times when I don't have internet access but still want to play. I found one but it is very buggy and only has 4 difficulty settings (I'm still playing at Moron level)...any suggestions? Thanks!

there are tons of them and you can google them easily
You will need a gui and engine.

I tried Lucas chess, and my malware checkers started screaming... I did just now find an offline option on the Lichess mobile app, just looking for one for a PC laptop. Maybe if I DL Lucas from a different source?

EDIT; what the heck, this laptop is a hunk of junk anyway. If it gets trashed I'll just buy a better one.

Chessmaster software is ideal, for learning, having fun, playing serious games, messing around - whatever you can think off, really.

Oh, i still run w7. But i really dont enjoy playing the bot.

But @OP if your rating really is 700~ dont play the bot. Instead download videos about the chess principles and watch them instead of playing.

I may also suggest to download software such as scid vs pc. I dont know if it has an engine, but it does have an opening explorer tree which can be populated with your own games. Check which opening has less than 50% success rate so you correct it.

At your level, studying will give you bigger benefits than actually playing.
