Attacking the Castled King by GM Danny Gormally
Encyclopedia of Chess Combinations is also good
@faketpr would say this book: Lessons with a Grandmaster: Enhance Your Chess Strategy And Psychology With Boris Gulko (Everyman Chess)
And so i will.
ok @tpr ?
The best books about atacking chess are games collections by attacking players:
Nezhmetdinov, Tal, Fischer, Kasparov
Study their games and especially pay close attentions to the moves that prepare the attack.
The best attacking book is the one you throw at your opponent.
@tpr Ok,any books that help ME find attacks??
thanks all
Tune your tactics antenna - Emmanuel Niemann... will give you the tools to find tactics in a more consistent way and was a game changer for me for building a more reliable methodology to my attacks.
Others will be better placed to advise on the strategy type books that you need to study. I am working through Silman - improve your chess now which is helping to build some more structure to my thought process.
Also highly recommend Andras Toth on youtube his approach to attacking is very good.
John Nunn's Understanding Chess Middlegames has some good stuff on common attacking motifs and ideas. The book's structured as a set of 100 most important themes and ideas, each with two top-level games to illustrate it. 22 of them are specifically categorized under "attacking play", although a lot of the others are probably relevant as well...
