There is no rule that you have to be titled to be a coach. Like @lance5500, he isn't even titled. Lichess gave him the unofficial title of LM.

If high rating means eligible for coach, I am also 2200+ rating. :)

technically you can coach with any rating. the higher the better though

Even among lower ratings, people can have specialties that are on par with people with a slightly better elo, such as certain openings, endgames ideas, piece maneuvering in the middlegame, and so on.

And no rule states that one has to be titled to coach, at least in chess. I myself give some coaching to lower rated players from my club, because I can help them in ways they don't conceive yet. Hech, even a 1200 rated player could give some coaching to someone who never played the game before. The difference is just the overall quality of the shared content.

I see that you joined this site less than a month ago @BrightLion. Welcome to Lichess.

@drhack has been helping out around here for almost five years and we are extremely grateful.

Dr. Hack was my coach when I first began learning chess in late 2017 and was one of the first coaches to join the Lichess coaching platform. Many coaches have come and gone, but @drhack is continuing to help countless Lichess members just like you and I improve our chess each day!

As highlighted in the numerous five star reviews on his coaching profile (24) you will see that he has helped countless Lichess users improve their chess. Here are some excerpts for you to enjoy:

"A remarkably skillful teacher!"
"Already an absolutely amazing coach."
"Dan is extremely knowledgeable and presents material in a very systemic and easy to grasp manner."
"To be frank, Dan is a hell of a coach. He is patient, thorough, and incredibly knowledgeable."
"I have nothing but good things to say about Dan and my experiences with him as my chess coach."
"Five stars! Dan “Dr Hack” Hronchek is a phenomenal instructor!"

Instead of asking how DrHack is a coach, you should be asking why there aren't more dedicated coaches like @drhack ? Thank you Dr. Hack for all that you have contributed to this community.
