cheaters and cheating

also, I might be wrong, but I believe lichess supports blind users who don't use a mouse, so entering moves in via keyboard might already be supported.

it's supported not only for blind users - go here: https://lichess.org/account/preferences/game-behavior
and activate "Input moves with the keyboard". it adds a small field to enter your moves below the chess board.

I wonder, if the cheaters had as a job to insert data into the Internet, would they like it? Now they do it for free and think it is great fun. How come?

griffindabeast : look dang, in my performances, I beat players ranked 1500, 1600 in quick play and my worst defeats are against players ranked 1000, 1200 and 1300 elo, you find that normal and well not me, this is not normal to see players ranked 1000, 1200, 1300 elo play with such performances !!

yup thats the reason why those are your worst losses because its not normal

deal with it - you're not gonna improve unless you admit that you screwed up and find a way to fix it. thats how life works

In CONCLUSION (IMHO), it seems that the number of chess cheats in this cesspool surpasses the total number of grains of sand in all the world's oceans!
Maybe the full Kramnik straitjacket paranoia approach is indeed the best option.
If a little paranoia helps then a whole lot has got to be better.

(If you must - Report), then Block and then just Move On immediately without engaging or wasting emotional energy.
A very low percentage of reports are found to be legitimate by the over-worked LiChess personnel.

I am a fan of fair play but if I have issues, I just block and move on. DONE.
Do let stinky scoundrels ruin your enjoyment of online chess!

I missed NOT in the last sentence. I meant.

Clear Summary of my Views: There is some cheating on LiChess but it is much less than many people think - it is definitely not a cesspool! Getting all paranoid is unhealthy and does not help us enjoy online chess. The LiChess mods do a good job and handle many many reports that are incorrect.
Cheers

On a seperate account, this guy played against me in a tournament (winning with 2 innacuracy's 1700) got first, i got second. then he got banned and i got two trophies, 2nd and first. I played this guy three times, losing rating everytime!

The issue is that people place too much emphasis on online ratings. They mean nothing. Play a few games, have fun. But, if you really want to get better at chess, find a club, play OTB and find friends there with whom you can play online without getting paranoid that they would cheat.

Cheating online is so easy and so difficult to catch that it almost makes no sense to worry about it. If you feel something is wrong report, but even then you're probably just wasting your time. Just play your game, learn from your mistakes, and if someone thinks that cheating is a good use of their time, well, they are just dumb... and as a side effect, if they ever play with someone OTB their opponent will quickly realize how mismatched is their ability online vs OTB.

This is just as vapid and silly as telling an obese person, "try some sport." (I mean, your point is good in this context, but in generally when talking to people with rating anxiety, it's just really dumb)

I’ve completely stopped playing on this site and went back to Chessdotcom because they actually do punish cheaters. In all seriousness. I have almost 2k games here and never once was refunded rating when I reported people that I matched thier moves to stockfish. Report feature is useless unless your a titled player imo. Us peasants can forget it if we want justice because the mods will just ignore any reports. With that said I enjoy the lichess tv and the forum only.
