Cheat mark

Yesterday, I checked the account of my 7 year old son to monitor his progress, only to find out, that he is now marked with a cheat mark.

I talked with him about the issue and he confessed (that he found it unfair to play in tournaments against much stronger players -.-) using lichess analysis on another device.

If I understand this correctly

Do not deny having cheated. If you want to be allowed to create a new account, just admit to what you did, and show that you understood that it was a mistake."

I will need to delete his account and recreate a new one?

Is it possible to block a new account from playing tournaments? I only found kids mode preventing chats. But I don't like his attitude - he values online tournaments so highly, although they mean nothing and on the other side shows no emotion if he loses a game on a real tournament.

You should talk to your son that way that he never ever even thinks about cheating.

I don't know if you have children, but know this - they may be smart, but their understanding needs some time until they really understand what's going on in the world.

And I don't want to discuss the misbehavior, just want to know if there is a way to block tournaments.

Raise your kids however you want, but the thing is... You should teach your son not to cheat. Any victory gained through cheating is hollow. If the tournaments are too hard for him then he can play in weaker tournaments. He will learn far more from losing games than winning games. What if he cheats later on in school and is expelled missing some good opportunities in life? If that were my son he would be punished for cheating.

cheating is cheating it does not matter what you say your understanding is/was. If someone used a computer against you you would say that was wrong certainly it would be wrong for you also.

Let's say he is unblocked but blocked from playing tournaments. That just means he could cheat while playing with other players (perhaps of a similar age) in rated non-tournament games, with the potentially spoiling the rating of other players (again, possibly of his age) who may then lose their own enthusiasm for the game.

Lol this thread. People seem to think that's something has gone wrong in parenting if 7yo kid cheats. Even kids twice as old don't know better. I should know. It's around that age I run away from home because my mom didnt approve me drinking. Now I am just boring tax paying engineer.
