Regium: Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence

I suspect Alex is just lacking experience: www.doyoubuzz.com/alexandra-martin_1
Her reaction tells something about the would-be company, but I don't think it tells anything about the product.
Now, assuming it works well, it will likely be a niche market. As for me I don't know chess players who would spend a thousand dollars to play on lichess with a real board.
They even stole the Harry Potter music for their video, that is simply embarrassing lol.
I'm sure they bought the rights to the track. Perhaps we should report it to YouTube so they can make sure...?
Another thing I noticed: In neither of the two videos do they show the left side (seen from the viewer) of the board, at the position where the cable comes out. In the second video, the camera walks around the board, but it seems they took great care to avoid showing the site of the cable socket. After he puts the board away in the second video, it seems the cable got "disconnected", if there even is such a thing as a socket. (min 4.45 - no more cable to be seen.) But again, the sofa cushion conveniently hides the position of the plug.

Edit/additional observations regarding the cable:
At the beginning of the first video, when the Harry Potter music is playing, there seems to be no cable at all. ... So does it run on battery alone?

Also, the type of cable used appears to be different in the first and second video: In the first video, at the "standard" board, it's a flat plug. The "luxury" board in the second video has what looks like a round connector (but this may be a perspective thing). So why would they use different connection types for their two prototypes?
@ChaeDoc - thanks for your good work and table with measured data - indeed i also noticed that the autobot moves in 1st video start just after the human player makes his move and his shadow disappears :).

How come the story of Turk prevails for all the centuries :), i still hope it will show up all the cards... finally

I was searching for the company mark, the king's crown, maybe its just a stock image - but i was able to track the crown down only to some ITsoftware Classin Sri Lanka (class in ?) but there are only some old pictures, i am not sure where was the logo, maybe there was some FB ad panel with Regium:

Not sure "Alexandra Martin" exists. As for "Philip Davis", "Steve Williams", the names of Regium's employees (regiumchess.com/about.html) are so common in their respective languages they are unsearchable on google. Their pictures are also highly suspicious. The picture in the link you provided doesn't fit with the picture on Regium's website (nor does the resume).
"Alexandra Martin marketing" gives us 27 500 000 results. It is a name regularly used by telemarketers to present themselves.
"Philip Davis mathematics", 6 360 000 and, well, this one : www.brown.edu/academics/applied-mathematics/philip-j-davis
"Steve Williams electrical engineer", 19 200 000, and this guy : uk.linkedin.com/in/stevenwilliamsengineer
My guess : Regium's is mostly Angel Delgado (and even this name...).
Chess.com also commented on their relationship with Regium. Good of them to bring some caution to the discussion.

"Chess.com is a company founded by chess lovers. Like you, we get excited at the prospect of bold, revolutionary innovations that will help chess evolve.

Recently, Chess.com was approached by REGIUM Chess who wished to sponsor one of our events, the Speed Chess Championship Final. With that sponsorship came a mailer which many of you received just two days ago.

In that mailer, Chess.com communicated the claims made by REGIUM Chess on their official site and publications. Chess.com also made it clear that while we are happy to partner with new and exciting products like the ones advertised by REGIUM, we are not involved in, and as such do not endorse, the fundraising efforts or manufacturing processes of these products and have no connection to the ownership of these products.

During the ongoing process of due diligence that is required when partnering with a third-party product, we have not been able to verify some of the claims made by REGIUM. Some of these claims have been researched in coordination with our colleagues from other chess sites around the world, while others have been researched independently by Chess.com. The claims Chess.com has been unable to to verify are in relation to both the products being marketed by REGIUM as well as representatives of the company.

We hope to see an excellent product emerge from REGIUM's upcoming Kickstarter campaign. At the same time, we encourage all of our amazing users to do their own due diligence and use their best judgement when verifying or validating claims related to any campaign, product or company, including REGIUM.

We believe that sending this message is consistent with Chess.com's values because we truly care about doing what is in the best interests our members."
Does anyone else find it to be highly suspicious, that there are seemingly no negative responses to their youtube videos? I feel like someone has been busy deleting critical comments over there.
