Invisible Pieces: Women in Chess

@MomentumStrike

Did it ever occur to you that you're not the only valuable person on the planet?

You've already answered this question.

Did it ever occur to you that chess has ALWAYS been MADE political for everyone EXCEPT YOU pseudo-men, BY and BECAUSE of the misbehaviour of you pseudo-men?

You've already answered this question.

It's GAME OVER for the lying and the sniveling.
Today is a NEW DAY.
I'm glad I read this !! Girls can play chess as well as boys and I don't think we should be surprised. 🤗
Thanks!
Have a good day!

Very glad the poster and Lichess brings this subject to our attention. I hope we can get a community where everyone feels free and save to play chess!
Take care all and have a good day!
@CM Sarg0n

No one cares that there's affirmative action for women, you wisecrack. It's only sensible to point to the fact that women are already getting plenty of encouragement to start chess.

Their own, easier, titles. Their own league. Their own prize pools - all inaccessible to men. And they can also participate in the main league that is unisex.

Truly, wow. Such. Victims. Women are such victims. ;(

Wanna write me a sad poem about it Sarg0n?
#107 "They should be made to shut up and be ignored.

Admins should have no problems *IMMEDIATELY* closing/muzzling accounts that speak stupid about the matter."

Ah, there it is. I was wondering how long it would take before someone came to "everyone who disagrees with me should be silenced."
#186 @Shizwazoo Intuitively I would agree with you that it would seem very unlikely. But I also allow for the possibility that as a man my intuition for the dangers women face may be way off the mark. The author of the article obviously came to a different conclusion for her own safety. Besides that, I would guess that all the things you mentioned have different probabilities and you didn't actually argue the case that these probabilities are similar, but rhetorically it was a great post nevertheless.

Looking at the overall discussion in this forum I cannot help but notice how much more time and effort is spent on the discussion of perceived or actual differences between men and women and how little on the weird statements and actions by FIDE officials discussed in the article. I think they should step down from their posts.
#322 The need for introducing those titles were to bring women out of the trenches in those days because of sheer male dominance and hostility and women being unable to even participate.
The debate of those titles in current times have been made and they can be phased out naturally, but not until better environments exist.

Whatever incentives that the women already have, exist because men created such a hostile situation that needed immediate attention grabbing measures that brought in more participation, which they have utilized quite well.

To make further progress requires an understanding that there exists an inherent problem in the system where most actions taken by women are continually being judged by the majority.
The gender factor arises in comparing that women tend to face higher risks in most simple tasks men get away with, in this case it is chess.
Not because women want to improve their situation by degrading our position.
