It is rare for you to encounter a cheater. It is usually obvious to tell if someone is cheating. Anyways, if you suspect someone, just report. You don't have to do anything else.

This is disappointing to hear. If you were a kid under 10 then maybe we could blame your influences, but if you are an adult and cheating at chess then you are either 1) A curious idiot. or 2) A complete scumbag.

The reality is that most cheaters are a mixture of the two. And to be honest its not even difficult to catch cheaters. I find the arguments against the difficulty of catching computer cheats as completely self serving.

And besides what do you expect if you don't understand that real chess players live and die by a code of honor.

The rating does not matter. What matters is that you broke the code of honor amongst real chess players. If you take offence to being called out for mistaken actions then that is your own personal issues. I stand by what i said people who cheat at chess are either 1) curious idiots or 2) complete scumbags. Hopefully in your case its not a permanent state of affairs and you learnt from the shame.
