@BennyGiggles I suggest that you practice a few games against stockfish level 8, however setup the board to be just King + Rook vs King. Play both sides of it. See how it's done, the engine will play the best move. You will learn, here I gave an example game of me doing a rook and king mate from your position after 49 moves. (The table base says it is mate in 15, but it took me 21 moves (I used a simple technique for pushing the king to the edge then mate available from any R+K vs K position, whereas the engine saw every possible move and played specific moves super accurately.).

After 50 moves a draw can be claimed if no captures have taken place, or no pawns have moved.
Personally, I'm not sure what would be more embarrassing. Not being able to mate with a rook in 50 moves, or being put into a king and rook vs your lone king situation by a player of such caliber.
Knowing how to checkmate with a rook is a very basic chess skill that all players need to know from beginners to grandmasters. If you can't come away with a win with a Rook + King vs King endgame... Need to really focus on endgame basics.
