lichess.org/broadcast/fide-grand-prix-2022-leg-1--group-stage/round-1/JsAkPuNa/jJJIBmIc in this game can anyone tell me why 10... b6 was played. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  1. ...b6 was played for opening the Bishop diagonal to give Bb7 or a6. it is given to control the a5 and c5 squares then it can give c5 then dxc5 and then bxc5 for a type of pawn structure.

Will you please tell this feature is good or not: lichess.org/forum/lichess-feedback/rating-feature-request-please-show-fide-rating-in-the-game-not-lichess-rating

I think many ppl don’t have fide rating & they come to lichess to learn chess & later they play in offline tournaments so maybe we shouldn’t have this feature...[thinks that hope he will understand my doubtful tone]

That is a middle game rule try to exchange your weak piece with opponents stronger piece of equal value. Here black s bishop is weak not developed. But white bishop on d3 is super strong. Controlling centre. So black is trying to exchange bishops by playing b6 followed by Ba6

Probably the first thing to understand about this game is that Aronian essentially played perfecty ... the computer analysis suggests a steamroller overwhelming his opponent ...
