I completely agree with you that people online are making jokes about it and I think I don‘t have to mention that these people are going way too far and that it‘s absolutely not ok.
I think a big point about that is that many people absolutely don‘t understand what depression actually is and if I‘m being honest I didn‘t really knew either. This is a point that isn‘t just a problem for depression but for many other illnesses like it and also things like bullying. These words are being used way too early and I just want to make clear that people should better inform what the word they‘re using means before using it.

You could also mention that sometimes depression is caused by genetic factors. Hope you're doing OK. I understand and have also had struggles with bouts of depression.
