What should you eat to improve at Chess ?

i think its opposite for me :) i always get so heavy if i eat carbs, does not help in the long run as it negatively affects your gut, but i love the eggs and snacks idea.

These tipps apply especially to standard chess :D

could you elaborate more? your diet seems to require getting more energy from carbs before the tournament starts, but how about during the 7-14 days? how is it possible to maintain energy level without consuming too much food? surely there has to be a healthy mix of carbs protein and fibre

Yogurt. Blueberry yogurt. It makes you play like a big snake that strangles the opponent. It makes you see minor moves with massive consequences for the opponent. Just don't create the impression that you are asking for advice from the waiter!

good advice: dont have a full stomuch just before the game start. stay hydrated.
i would add, get fresh air like walking outside for 30 min. brain needs oxygen as well as glucose.

This sounds similar to what runners do before marathons etc. carb load in the days before the event to max out your glycogen store but keep it light on the day. Maybe it helps for chess too.

I follow the P90X DVDS and the book salads greens. I stay away from junk food and no sweets. One food in particular in particular I'd highly recommend for OTB is beets athletes swear by them they give energy you can cut them up fresh into slices and make them into a salad with tomatoes, lettuce whatever you want or by themselves for lunch very good.
