Does bullet chess make you better or worse?

I play a TON of 1/4 + 0 Anti-chess and it absolutely makes me much better, especially when I play against better players

I like your contingency inventory... approximating type prevalence in an individual.

It does make sense.. I an ideal world i would try to approach time management improvement.. but the task now seems too abstract, and of sisiphean porporion (not to mention all the cortisol that would leak from my ears, only thinking about doing that for real).

i prefer to not think about time.. Time? It does not exist.

I usually, draw an axis on some paper, that is enough time thinking for me.. make it a line on some piece of paper, and voilà, not need to keep managing it.. it is stored in that external memory medium..

I do the same with opening knowledge.. the opening explorer, it is like external memory extension support in digital format.. and voilà. now i can really focus on the chess with my type 1 and 2 omelette of brain blob. kidding, sort of...or ...

ignoring the 2 modern pillars of chess. clocks and opening répertoire.. my bad.

PS: on openings.. I am still curious about them.. but not as a competitive tool. so not dismissing the knowledge itself.
What's the difference between a blitz game with 2 seconds left for each player and a bullet? If someone practices bullet, wouldn't they be well prepared for that situation?
I suggest that blitz is also too fast for most players to learn anything from each game.
Its A Wonderful Article @Avetik_ChessMood As My Opinion I Agree That Bullet Worsens Your Game. And Thanks For Sharing All The Scientific Info You Have! I Read This Article Very Intently! Thanks,
I started reading the article with so much hope for me to quit bullet (I play a lot of 1+0), and finally dedicate my time to improve my chess.

Alas.... Poor me! Better should I know!

As soon as I reached the sentence:

> 30 sec + 0 (don’t try this! ) is called hyperbullet.

I stopped the reading of the article and went on to try this thing!

(Hahaha --- my opponent , please read this @mieklikanen )
And then.... I took the time to read the rest of the article.

Amazing article. Thank you for writing it and sharing your views with us, GM Avetik_ChessMood

All the best!

I got to read this post due to one of my students liked and so I went to read the link. This is one of my daily struggles, convincing them that bullet is bad for their development because you play solely on instincts, and when you are at their level (1500+-) they don't have instincts to start with. It's a losing proposition: you waste time, and you don't get nothing in return but cheap thrills.
I banned bullet from the class, but they really don't like it. I hope this article coming from a GM will convince them better.
Thanks!
