Advent of Chess: Solve problems and win a chessboard signed by Magnus Carlsen
Solve chess problems every day of advent, and win a chessboard signed by Magnus Carlsen!Advent of Chess is back!
Just like in 2020 and 2021, the chess club founded by Magnus Carlsen, Offerspill, is presenting an advent calendar with chess problems behind each door. These aren't the usual chess problems you'd find in any book. You'll encounter unorthodox problems like helpmates (where you help your opponent checkmate you in a specified number of moves), selfmates (where your force your opponent to checkmate you), and retrograde analysis problems (where you deduce the past from a given position).
Curious about what these problems might look like? Here's an example from December 9th, 2021: Construct a game that starts with the initial position and ends with White checkmating by playing 5. Qxe4#.
Find the answer for this problem and all previous problems in our archive!
Each correctly answered problem is awarded one ticket in the drawing for a chess board signed by Magnus Carlsen!
How to join

Each door is open for 24 hours, meaning that you can submit answers for Day 1 from midnight, December 1st until midnight, December 2nd (CET). The answer is published after submissions close.
