Well first of all 4 games is far from enough to decide a proper winner (especially given the drawishness of RK, if they want it some of us can even draw out the win in a 10 game series) and second of all not everyone can play on lichess each day. Given that people live in different timezones two days is a ridiculously short time to arrange and play a match. You can suggest all you like (and I certainly encourage the creativeness and will give feedback on every proposal) but this setup has proven succesful in both the Atomic, the Crazyhouse and the Antichess World Championships and with the full ruleset written I'm not going to change it anymore.
Participant update: DannyGreene123 decided to retreat from the tournament but we have 5-time Shield-winner Babosos to replace him, which leaves the player count untouched at 28. Any help at finding players to fill in the last 4 spots is greatly appreciated.

I'll ping every one of the current participants just to give some final instructions and to check if everyone is still wanting to play. If you're on this list but would want to withdraw, please do mention it because I don't want to have to forfeit matches when the tournament is already in progress. Also, if you're not on this list but had already notified us of your interest in participating, please contact me again as soon as possible. This is the list that I collected out of all Lichess and Discord chats from the previous month but it is theoretically possible that I missed someone. The current list is apparently three longer than I could recall before (and mentioned in the post before), sorry about that. This does however mean that only ONE starting place is still available (but will probably be filled by someone who showed interest earlier but with whom I didn't discuss everything yet) so if you still want to sign up, do it quickly! I will manage a small list of reserve players so eventhough you might not get placed, you will still be noted and have a small chance of getting in the main bracket. In random order:
- @RoyalManiac
- @RacingKingsKing
- @samiov
- @sachmaty8
- @Babosos
- @paulinho98
- @Bombastischerbomba
- @Moscowneversleep
- @TheYuriy
- @a_47
- @Vibranium18
- @AlvaroChess99
- @risky-chess
- @Kristal
- @ernoit
- @Eagle_from_East
- @massanto
- @Unicorn99
- @BayorMiller
- @PepsiNGaming
- @Chijss
- @punyagupta
- @TJMorley
- @kostasvl
- @kingslayer7
- @Opening_Player
- @sriramprasad
- @dbwagner
- @ChessApple78
- @andreijl
- @yabbadabbadooooo
I would want to mention some practical things before the pairings are officially announced.
- Make sure you have your preferences (to be find in the top right menu, under your username) set so that other players can always challenge and message you. This is necessary so your opponent can contact you to discuss match times and so he can challenge you on the time you agreed on. Once you're in the preferences menu, these settings can be found under the "Privacy" tab that is shown in the left menu.
- There will be a separate topic to announce the match time you agreed on with your opponent. It would be very much appreciated if everyone could post their match times there far enough in advance, so other players can spectate the games or I or someone else can stream and comment on them live as well.
Pairings will be announced as soon as I settled who is the last participant and calculated all the ratings. The bracket is moderated by RacingKingsKing so I'm not sure if it will always be up-to-date. All pairings, updates and information can be found on the website and in this forum thread.

@RoyalManiac you missed me or I'm secret 32nd player? :)
P.S. I would bet on hipno if he played but we're fortunate this tournament

@mmo_mikhail Well I guess it was so plain obvious that you would participate that I didn't include you in the list ;-) No but seriously, how could I miss you?
@ezasucanget wanted to play as well so now we are at 33, possibly 34 players. If other people are still interested please do let me know, I'll just add everyone to the list until I come up with an idea to fix the number of players (tomorrow evening at the latest).
