2021 RKWC recap

Hey everyone!
Here's a short recap of the 2021 world championship cycle.

The 2021 Racing Kings WC was played between June 27 and October 23, with a grand total of 56 players battling it out in double elimination format. It marked a sharp increase compared to the 34 participants that played in both previous editions - a trend we are hoping to continue in the years to come.

The 2021 Final between the top seed, @CyberShredder, and two-time world champion @RoyalManiac was played on October 23, 16:00 UTC. It was a much-anticipated rematch, after a tense upper bracket final saw @RoyalManiac winning by the narrowest possible margin. After playing for over 2,5 hours, @CyberShredder came out on top in the RKWC Final with a score of 10.5 - 9.5. Congratulations to our new world champion!

In accordance with tradition, the registrations for the 2022 RKWC would take place between May 30 and June 26. Details however remain to be seen, as changes in both the ruleset as well as the tournament format itself are a possibility for the upcoming year. We hope you'll be there with us in 2022!
