onubense vs Arka50

I'd like to clarify that the decision on this has already been made. It was made on Thursday; Arka was notified and so was the rest of the group via the initial post in this topic. I've clearly thought on it in the days since then and still believe it was the best decision under the circumstance and it will not be changed now. I'm posting in the forum to explain what led to that decision, which I believe I have done.

It may seem harsh to some but Arka's postings in the forum over the last day do not increase my sympathy. I do not react well to attempts of manipulation, especially after the decision was accepted in a reasonable way via personal communication.

I wasn't trying to get any sympathy, I just wanted justice. I want to thank all my supporters and the guys who tried to help me, but the organiser came to a final decision and I can't do anything to change that. Let the final be entertaining for us fans.

You are a great atomic player Arka50. I spotted early on that you are the only one that has a chance against the biggest atomic specialist names, because you play a very original and insightful atomic chess even in face of tons of theoretical knowledge on the other side.

I never saw breaks during other matches, so I cannot rid myself of the assumption that onubense used this intentionally to drive you into forfeit.

Nevertheless I also accept the decision of the TD and also that onubense is a better technician in terms of mastering the meta game of the championship rules, but I'm yet to be convinced that he is a better player than you at the actual game of atomic chess.

@Arka50 thanks for that post

@sakkozik I'm sure that no-one wanted a forfeit to happen. Having watched the 12 games I think it's clear that both players were trying to win on the board and doing so with skill. Particularly striking to me were onubense's win in game 7 and Arka's endgame save in game 12. The most memorable match of the tournament for both good and bad reasons.
