I haven't always played 1e3 in antichess. Sometimes, I mouseslip and sometimes I forget what I am playing. If I am awake and sane, I will always play 1e3 even if someone proves another opening as a win for White.
If we really want a compromise, why don't the two players agree on one opening (other than either of their main ones) that they would BOTH like to play at least once, maybe twice, during the five matches as white? This would make it so that e3 players would still get to play the favourite, while players that dislike playing e3 would get some variation.
the thing is, if the players want to agree something like that, fine; but I can't really force anybody by the tournament rules to play or not play a specific opening.

I'm sad to say I'm out. Even though I love antichess more than chess, I must use my energy towards improving at chess and trying to make the Olympiad team is two, four, six, or eight years. I can always come back and play antichess later.
