Sadly, yes, they are common enough to warrant these categories.
I don't think there's anything wrong with this post, but I have seen some stinkers.
Now the options are on the report post feature too. And it's also mandatory to fill out
It's far better to be too specific than not enough.
Just a year or so ago, there was no option for "username". Somebody called to my attention a flagrantly racist username that had been reported without success. I then tried to report it, also without success. (My theory is that perhaps the report had been handled by somebody who did not speak English as a first language. The account was eventually closed when somebody else in the community privately contacted a moderator they knew.)
Having more options means a smaller likelihood of things like this falling through the cracks.
Hang in there. Everything will be fine. Long before you're in your sixties you'll enjoy the irony of life.
