How is that people get pissed when you decline a request of move withdrawal?

@Skittle-Head Self-proclaimed scientists are the bane of this world. From your opponent's point of view, you made a poor move (not a misclick) and thus don't deserve any pity.

Best thing to do is to disable this option... 9unless you are playing a casual game with a friend) whether it's a misclick or a mistake, it doesn't matter. Before I would allow the opponent to take back a misclick, and in the same game the opponent wouldn't do the same for me. So, it's better to disable and accept the few misclicks both will make and move on.

@MyBrainIsMush I granted the takeback in this game because opponent my blundered...and I wanted to see if he would return the favor. He did not. He did not have pity for one who had pity on him. (A jerk) No tit for tat. I only tried this once...as I said...I never ask for take backs otherwise. :]

@Skittle-Head Once again, granting a takeback for a blunder is different from a misclick. You were the weaker player since you "granted the takeback in this game because opponent my blundered". You get what you deserve.

@MyBrainIsMush Well at least you got your user name right...you aren't even beginning to under stand what I'm saying.Bye

In blitz, takebacks should never be asked for; even misclicks are part of the game. In rapid and slower, if it is an obvious misclick, especially when trying to castle, or dropping a piece early in the game by misclick, it is very tacky NOT to give it back. If snatching a few temporary rating points is more important to you than having a decent game of chess, it says a lot about you. Later when the clock is running down, it is like blitz: misclicks are part of the game. As for returning blunders that are not misclicks in slower games, it is the opponent's prerogative; not a right of the blunder maker. The latter therefore ought not to whine.

@Skittle-Head I get exactly what you're saying. You are a self-proclaimed man of science who wanted to test a theory...a game theory! You decided I will accept a takeback for my opponent since they blundered. Then you blundered to see if they would accept your takeback request.

Alright as I've been saying from the first post, blunders are different from misclicks. I'm referring to longer games (non-blitz/bullet), and takebacks should be accepted for misclicks but not blunders. You gave a takeback for a blunder, which is something I don't condone, and you got what you deserved. Cry me a river.

I always accept takebacks for miss click castles, but never for blunders and other miss clicks.

I used to grant them more often, but I've granted one and then requested one and been denied. And I don't like how when I grant one after they say miss click in chat, they can then move any piece they want. Sometimes they find a completely different but better move and move a different piece to a different square.

I quite like when people get angry in chat. There's no rule that says take backs must be granted, and I play fairly, so nothing they say has any negative effect on me, it has a positive effect. If some anonymous person on the internet who has never met you, has no idea who you are, can make you feel bad by typing a few words, you should ask yourself why do you give them so much power over you? I still report them for abuse.

@nayf

You forgot to start with "In my opinion". I don't ask for or allow take backs. I don't think it's tacky.
