What's your favorite way to punish arrogant players?

I'd say "beat them" but there was this one time that a few players came to the hotel looking really down. "We got beaten." "Was it that bad?" "No I mean some people actually did beat us up for real".

Don't beat your opponents. Not even if they're arrogant. It'll fall foul of Article 11.1 " The players shall take no action that will bring the game of chess into disrepute."

Just defeat them. Or challenge them to chessboxing if you want to legitimately beat them.

Wow, this is one of the most obnoxious and arrogant posts I've seen here. If I could down vote it more than once I definitely would.

You do this crap at your own peril (and you can certainly stalemate someone without any queens). I was watching one of Hanging Pawns's videos recently. He was pissed that an opponent wasn't resigning in a position that was K+Q+2 or 3 pawns vs K. I remember it well - he says "well, he's not resigning so I'm going to make 3 queens. I don't care, I won't stalemate him." Then 2 moves later...stalemate. I definitely laughed out loud when I saw that. Was it worth it...

I'm tempted to say that such video might have much higher educative value than its author originally wanted. :-)
(Unless it was done on purpose, of course.)

If you want to go, at least wait for 30 second before leaving, therefore they will hope they can use their Hit and Run tactic before realizing their hope is futile.
I think you fit the criteria of arrogant players perfectly.
So, arrogant people are people who suck less at chess than you? I guess the way you deal with them is either become more chill, or quit interacting with people.
rather than fighting fire with fire, I just win and quickly move on to the next game/game analysis so as to not give such players any more of my time
