Ok. My wild guess is the guy got away with a warning (which you won't know). Seems incomprehensible, but you can't contest the decision.

@sheckley666 if you report someone for a chatban, you still get a "someone you reported was banned". Based on the wording of #1 I assume this was not the case

I greeted guy from Russia by saying "Slava Ukraine" and responded that I'll die like a pig. His account was banned a few days later.

@for_cryingout_loud you can reduce it to RM, cuz reporting automatically comes with a block :)

Welcome to the internet. I don't understand why anyone takes anonymous comments seriously. In any case, there are two tools at your disposal that may make your experience feel safer. Check out the reporting feature and Zen mode.

Unless you are announcing your race how would anyone know your race?

I never know my opponents race or gender or age.

Racism and racist abuse doesn't have to be personal. It's still racist and offensive even if it's only heard by somebody who's not the "target".
