My Chess Coach is a 1400 elo player

Imo at the amateur level a coach should be significantly better than the student. At this level it is mainly about helping to understand concepts, analyzing games and providing a training plan. Only the last can be accomplished by a lower rated player.
This sounds like a scam. Tell your friend to find a new coach...
@michuk jesus man, you've made about 50 troll posts in the last week asking completely absurd questions. Take a break
@Steven-ODonoghue I posted a few topics having not posted for a long time. I also responded to topics of others I thought I had something to contribute. Is there a limit? You described it as troll posts because you don’t respect my contributions in this site for some reason. You are not so nice to me.
Oh nice. I'm currently 1399 rated. Maybe he can teach me something to get one extra point
@jamesB009 Yes he’s on here but I don’t want to get him any unwanted attention. He uses the money 💰 I pay him to look after his baby daughter. He’s super nice and makes me feel good and confident even after some nasty comments on here or a humiliating defeat😌
I will disagree with most here.

I think online rating doesn't quite respect the real strength and culture of chess a person has. An online rating is caused by so many factors, like the time control you're playing, your speed and reflex, your game style, even by your opponents' skills.
Take an old man who started playing chess 60 years ago, he's slow, probably doesn't quite understand how internet chess works. But he's got a wide opening repertoire and positional play knowledge. Maybe he would never reach 1500.
Does this make him a weak player that cannot coach a young boy who doesn't know how the queen moves?
There's a reason why online rating is not taken into consideration for otb official rating.
I believe anyone can coach anyone who is just a bit worse than them. 1400 rated player can easily coach up to 1100 rated players.
