ACWC 2024 Pairings and Match results

Im dropping out of the ACWC because I simply wont be available for all matches since im traveling in early January.

However before I leave, Id like to give the Win to @Passionate_Player for our unfinished match. Goodluck everyone. May the best player win!

@llIVIll you can request the TDs to finish your matches in December rather than withdraw.

And if you qualify to the semi-finals, the Semi-Finals are held in the week of 20-27 Jan, by which you would be free.

Thank you for reaching out and for your understanding. After careful consideration, I have decided to withdraw from this year’s Antichess World Cup.

There are a few reasons behind my decision. While I will be traveling in January for over a month, even before that, I’ve found it challenging to manage the scheduling and timing requirements of the matches. The added pressure of arranging everything has made it difficult for me to fully commit. Additionally, I feel it’s a good opportunity to let other talented players have their chance to compete for the title and the prize money, which I believe will contribute to the excitement and competetiveness of the tournament.

This decision wasn’t easy, as I deeply respect the Antichess community and the passion it brings to the game. I look forward to following the tournament and wish all the players the very best of luck.

I also want to address my unfinished match with @Passionate_Player . Although I was in a winning position, we didn’t get to finish the game. As I’m withdrawing from the tournament, I would like to respectfully offer him the win. I hope you will respect my decision and accept this resignation for the sake of finalizing the match fairly. Goodluck to all participants of this year’s ACWC!

I agree with Sarang, I think @llIVIll should continue that match with @Passionate_Player soon and finish other matches by the end of the year if TDs can allow it. It's not rational to end this hard way like this but it's up to him now

llIVIll withdrew so early and if he doesn't change his mind and isn't gonna continue, I think it will be fair to replace him with @Siddiq1911 who's #11 in the candidates stages. And in future, if people aren't sure that they will have time and interest to play ACWC until the end, it's better not to join at all cause it affects other participants too

Will he be replaced by another player, or something else?

Since it's early group stage period, giving Siddiq a chance would be fairer than giving all remaining players a win over ivi.
