He asked for a laptop, not an OS.
Anyway, if you really want Linux, @ChessKing1015056, you can install it after you buy the computer.

I hate this mac. What PC should I get thats under 2000?
build one yourself. it would be best to make sure everything fits your criteria. or you can get some service to build it for you, if you are unsure, or just want a "pre-built" delivery.
i can also recommend you switch to linux, if you want, since lightweight linux systems can run fast without lots of memory usage, and you might not need to buy a new pc just for that. reducing e-waste is good for you since it doesn't cost you more money, and for the earth, which is obvious. if you are interested, i suggest you message me, or just ask your questions here, in this forum. i'm not sure if i will be flagged by moderators, but i will just mention that i have a blog post on switching to linux. i won't share the link here, but you can check it out too if you are interested. good luck bro :)

what would you want to use it for? Some computers are good for something, Linux is good for coding, Windows is good for gaming? I think Mac is more editing.

You dont buy a pc. You build it yourself.
AMD ryzen 7 7800x3d
Radeon Rx 7800 xt, you can get a smaller one if you dont need that much, but if you do get it. You will not have to upgrade for a long time.
Between 32 and 64 GB of ram.
A good compatible motherboard.
Just make sure to get a good aftermarket cpu fan and a big enough PSU.
Recycle your HDD, but do get an M2 for OS

If you're wanting a desktop PC with cutting-edge hardware, I think I'd have to agree on the "build it yourself" idea. Or, if you're not comfortable with building it yourself, then pay somebody you trust to build it for you. I've seen way too many bad reviews for prebuilts on the Gamers Nexus YouTube channel. (The good reviews are few and far between.) And don't even think of buying something from Best Buy or Walmart...
