Sure, music influences your mood. However :

My phone ringing has an impact on my mood. The red light when I want to cross the street has an impact on my mood. Living has an impact on your mood.

4. In fact, that's pretty much intended. The aim (or one aim) of music (and more generally, of arts) is to make you feel stuff. A music (or any artform) that doesn't have any impact on your mood is pretty much worthless.

Time for a quick grammar lesson.

The way the word "especially" works is it emphasises the second part if the sentence, but the sentence would still be true without it.

Exemples: "I don't like vegetables, especially beetroots" means tou don't like any vegetables, but you particularly dislikes beetroots. The sentence would still be true if you had just said "I don't like vegetables", although it would provide slightly less information.

So to go back to what you said, you implied you don't get how people can listen to music. How can you not get it, si'ce not only did you use to do it, but you actually enjoyed it? Hence my remark: you were being hypocritical and sanctimonious.

PS: I don't buy for one second that music "controls your mind". But feel free to pretend it does if that can confirm your belief system.
