Messi and CR7 (I agree with @Expectro_Patronum that R9 is the original and best Ronaldo!) are both legends that will rate among the best. The honors and titles both have won at the club level is mind boggling.

Though I prefer Messi's style, CR7 gets the edge. He can put the team on his shoulders and carry them to victory all by himself. At the end of the day, the deciding factor for me is who has won an international title and the only answer there is Cristiano - and with a much worse team than Messi has had with Argentina.
